I lie. Compulsively and needlessly. All the time. About everything. And I often contradict myself. Why do I need to do this? To make myself interesting or attractive. In other words, to secure narcissistic supply (attention, admiration, adulation, gossip).

To be narcissistic means to be extremely self centred and egotistical. The narcissist must constantly belittle, put down and minimize other people in order to feel good about themselves. They need constant attention and ego boosting. When the constant attention from others starts to decrease, the narcissist will turn on their former supporters and attack them verbally, emotionally and sometimes physically. Narcissists are famous for violent break ups. It is interesting to note that narcissists are actually very insecure people and have low self esteem. They attempt to hide their deep insecurities with arrogance and an inflated sense of self importance. Narcissism is a Personality Disorder. Narcissists have very little if any empathy and compassion for other people's suffering.
